DESPITE the gloomy headlines about the state of the housing market, a new Lincoln property agency sees things far more optimistically and opens its doors to the public on Thursday 15 May.
Concept is confident that its highly experienced staff, detailed knowledge of the market and good old fashioned personal service will ensure its future success.
“Experts have been forecasting doom and gloom in the property market for decades,” said director Pat Tennyson, “But although we are realistic about the challenges ahead, we know that there will always be a demand for housing, either for purchase or rental.”
“We will be offering what customers want - a friendly, personal touch from a business that can provide the full range of services associated with the sale or purchase of a property - in essence, a one-stop shop approach that will ensure the best deals possible for our customers,” added Pat, who has previously worked for Stamford Homes and more recently for another local estate agency business.
“Buying or selling a house now could be even more stressful than usual, but simple things like free parking outside the branch; coffee on tap for customers and a more relaxed atmosphere will make a massive difference.”
Concept will be providing a range of other associated services including mortgage advice, Home Improvement Packs, valuations, investments and insurance products. Clients do not have to sell through Concept to access the other services.
The three directors of the company - Pat Tennyson, Alison Craven and Louise Cashmore - will be working in the business every day and they have been joined by well known local surveyor Charles Abbott and senior residential valuer Dan Wakeling.
“We will be holding special vendor evenings where those people looking to sell can come along, meet the staff, chat to our valuer, talk about the market conditions and get a feel for how we would advertise their property,” added Pat.
In addition, Concept will offer customers the opportunity to watch virtual tours of listed properties to speed up the search time and avoid wasted viewings.
Concept will be open seven days a week. The business is based at 21 Carlton Mews, Lincoln, and opening times are Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday - 9.30am-6pm; Thursday 9.30am-7.30pm; Saturday 9am-3pm; Sunday 10am-1pm.

The forecast is getting gloomier, but there are ways for canny buyers and sellers to avoid the worst of it
